Here is the official beginning of a love story that began approximately 2 years ago when Carie and Kevin met through a mutual friend. They live their whole lives just a few blocks away from each other but never met before. However, when that moment happened they figured out pretty quickly that they liked each other and had lots of mutual values and interests – golf being one of them! 25 years of golfing for Kevin and 20 for Carie! I am surprised they didn’t decide to have their wedding at a golf course :). But I completely and perfectly happy with their choice of venue! Their wedding was held at the Winterthur Museum and Library in Winterthur, DE. The grounds were simply magical. The gorgeous landscapes were basically everywhere and I haven’t seen one upkept corner. The buildings and the property are respectively as magical and gorgeous as all the garden areas! I didn’t know that but Kevin told me that the home that is now a museum is the 5th largest house in the US. How cool is that?!
The wedding day began with a little bit of a hassle when the place cards didn’t print as they were supposed to and everything was supposed to be redone. You would think, that’s not a big deal, but people do need to know where they are seated! So it’s kinds of the only noticeable part of the reception that wasn’t ready. Talk about stress. But Kevin and the team of groomsmen took on the tasks and completed it perfectly!!! Carie on the other side of the things made a perfect decision about their wedding ceremony though. It weather was indecisive and didn’t give any clear signs if it’s going to rain or not. Carie made a perfect (and a brave!) decision to have the ceremony outside and I couldn’t be happier for them! The day turned out pretty perfect. It was a little humid but it never rained for any official part of the wedding! Thank you God!
The day was not only perfect becaus of the weather of course. Even if it would pour down, Carie and Kevin and their families would make it perfect no matter what! Love, respect, positive outlook at everything and such great relationship is what is the most important and actually makes the celebration…well, and life after the wedding too :). Okay, enough of me chatting! Check out these most gorgeous moments from Carie and Kevin’d Winterthur Wedding!
Getting ready at the Inn at Montchanin Village
Carrie and her ladies got ready at the Inn at Montchanin Village in Wilmington, DE. The cutest village full of small cottages. My favorite thing about this bridal party was that everyone on the girls side was a family member. How special is this?! Moms, sisters, nieces were all there to support and enjoy time together with Carie.
And look at Carie’s purse! That is the most elegant bridal purse I have ever seen! Carie was simply stunning!!! I couldn’t take my eyes off of her, so I can imagine how Kevin will be feeling when he sees his beauty! And here Carie is opening the gifts ‘The old, the borrowed, the new and the blue’. Her mom and Amy (her sister) did an amazing job to picking the presents for her. ‘The old’ was her grandmother’s wedding ring. So special. It was put on Carie’s wedding bouquet. ‘The new’ was Philly baseball cape :D! Mom definitely knows her girl and she likes! ‘The borrowed’ were the dried flowers from Amy’s wedding from 18 years ago!!!! Carie actually gave those to Amy on her wedding so it was borrowed for her sister’s wedding; and now she returned the favor :). ‘Something blue’ was definitely a fun piece too 🙂 – blue lacy bridal underwear. Whew-whew! And now the bride and her bridesmaids were ready and headed to Winterthur to their first look! Kevin got ready in the circle of his closest family and friends as well, who also helped him with those awesome place-cards too :).
Fist look and wedding portraits at Winterthur Museum
And now it was a time for these amazingly gorgeous bride and groom to see each other. They had a special spot on the property that they chose for their first look. It was my a waterfall and a pond full of fish (and one fist actually tried eating Carie’s veil). Well all joked aside, Carie and Kevin were super happy to see other and we captured some wonderful wedding portraits of them and their bridal party.
And this is the photo that Carie and Amy recreated from Amy’s wedding – kissing their dad. The most special photos <3! And now as the family photos were completed as well, it was time to hide away from the guests and have a little break for bride and groom. And I simply love the moment I captured of Carie going downstairs. And those were some gorgeous stairs with the bride that was even more good-looking than amazing elegant architecture.
Wedding ceremony at winterthur Museum
Everything was ready for the wedding ceremony. Fresh rose petals, some classical strings music, and all the guests seated and ready to witness Carie and Kevin to officially tie the knot. Winterthur Museum definitely has beautiful ground and the ceremony had such a great vibe because of it.
Wedding Reception at Winterthur Museum
And here they are married!!!! It’s time to celebrate! Check out the happy, fun, relaxed and unscripted moments from their cocktail hour and wedding reception!
Carie’s dad said the blessing. And then Amy (maid of honor) and Doug’s (best man) were to follow. I knew that Carie and Kevin are perfect for each other but a few of those extra unknown facts that were shared there sealed the deal and anyone could see how good Carie and Kevin are together! And the night-time photos for these bride and groom turned out to be pretty magical too. The light and the mood were just that – happy!
Oh, how happy I am that I was able to be a part of their special day and so honored to be chosen to be at every moment of the day with them! Thank you guys and God bless you!
