Shanna and Joe met through a mutual friend. Joe popped the question on a New Years even last year and exactly a year later they got married on New Years eve at Scotland Run Golf Club. This year has brought a lot of surprises to all of us and one of them was weather. I don’t remember a winter that has started that early with temperatures that low and one of these FREEZING days fell on the New Years Even. Shanna was the bravest girl!!! She said that she hates cold with her whole soul but she still agreed for the 1st look outside and for some of their wedding portraits outside. Luckily Scotland Run has the most beautiful inside area with so much natural light that we were able to stay inside for most of the time after we freeze outside after 5 minutes of portraits. The temperatures were bitterly cold but the whole day I felt warm and fuzzy inside from everything that was happening. From the morning with all the girls hanging out and cheering for Eagles, to the warmest hugs in the freezing cold during bride and groom portraits, to the most beautiful wedding ceremony and finally to the reception that went all the way into the new year – everything was such a great sign of a wonderful family being created. So fun and memorable!!! Check out those wedding moments for yourself and say your congrats to Shanna and Joe!
Bride’s Getting ready at the Marriott in Glassboro
The outside from freezing but the inside was warm and cheerful. The girls had a wonderful time doing their hair and make up, cheering for Eagles and mentally preparing for the cold :). Shanna and Joe chose to have a first look before the ceremony so they had to be ready before the bridal party needed to be all dressed up, so Shanna got into her most elegant wedding dress from the Bridal Manor, grabbed her white hydrangeas bouquet and fur shawl and we all headed out to Rowan University.
Can you see all the girls being Eagles fans :)?
Oh, Shanna, you are gorgeous!
Groom’s getting ready
The guys were on track too and Joe was excited to come and see his bride!
Wedding Portraits at Scotland Run Golf Club
We set up the first look at the Rowan University and after a few moments we headed to Scotland Run for the rest of the photos. And oh yes, we did stop by the stop where Joe’s fraternity used to be :).
And Scotland Run had the most beautiful winter decorations which were perfect to incorporate with Shanna and Joe’s wedding photos. And after a few minutes of freezing and moved inside to the cozy fireplace :). Thank you Scotland Run for having beautiful space. Then the bridal party has joined us and we had some great time together! What a wonderful crew it was!
And yes, the bridal party agreed to go outside for one photo :). I appreciated it very much!!!
Wedding Ceremony at Scotland Run
The ceremony time has arrived and as all the guests filled the room we were all ready to witness Shanna and Joe tie the knot. I loved how not only Joe was watching intently Shanna walking down the isle but also Shanna’s daughter. So beautiful! And Shanna started crying on her walk and as she said, it was her dad to blame! He started it first! And yes, as you will see during the father-daughter dance, he was crying again. Oh, how I can relate! Now being a parent I cry myself just at a thought of my babies marrying some day and how I will feel during those moments. Well, the ceremony was beautiful and now these two were married!
Joe being of a Jewish decent chose to have a small but a very meaningful tradition incorporated into their wedding ceremony – the breaking of the glass.
Soon after the ceremony we sneaked out outside for a few night-time photos and then the actual party has started.
Wedding Reception at Scotland Run
I loved the New Years wedding decorations that Shanna and Joe planned. In addition to Christmas trees they had tall wine glass shaped container filled with silver and gold Christmas/New Years balls. So fun and appropriate! The tables numbers were wooden numbers painted gold. Candles and most gorgeous cake completed the look of the room! But most importantly it’s the party that was memorable. Chris Veto from Over the Top Entertainment lead a very meaningful and super fun party at the same time! I wish I worked more with him!
Once the New years count down began everyone watched the ball drop, counted down together and then kissed and hugged and wished Happy New Year to each other! For just a moment I got sad that I didn’t have anyone to kiss or hug (I mean everyone was SUPER nice so I guess I could have hugged anyone there but here I am referring my personal family and friends), but then I have realized that if I wouldn’t be working right now, I would be sleeping. And the decision was the capturing someone’s amazing wedding memories is DEFINITELY more fun then sleeping. So here it was – my pity party was over and I was back to the funnest party now in 2018 :).
What a wonderful idea it was to get married on the New Years eve and enter a new year married with all your family and friends. And I a so thankful to be a part of such a special day. Thank you Shanna and Joe for having me and God bless you!!!
What an amazing day it was! I feel so honored to be a part of Rachel and Frank’s wedding day! Thank you so much guys for having me and God bless you!!!
