Angie and Jon! Office romance! This story is super close to my heart because it sounds so much like my personal love story! Except for my husband wasn’t my boss when we started dating :O. Yes, Jon was Angie’s boss! I could tease them a lot about this but looking at their relationship, I wish everyone would be like them!
The wedding was actually an elopement. They live in Virginia but came to Cape May, NJ because all of their friends were there to support Virginia beauty pageant. Well, I was there to support there wedding photography :).
It was Jon, Angie, Cape May mayor and me! The most intimate wedding that I have been to so far. And it was so special and sweet!
The mayor told them a story of the Sunset Pier (Sunset Pavilion) in Cape May and how thousands of people each year are watching sunsets and Cape May lighthouse there. And after his captivating story, the vows were said, they kissed and were pronounced a man and a wife. Two sunset viewers volunteered to sign the marriage certificate because in the end they did witness Angie and Jon’s marriage. And that’s how it all started!
We had a small photo session on the beach and it was my pleasure to see the most loving and warm relationship between these two love-birds. We walked around Cape May beach, met another newlyweds couple, Jon and Angie took a selfie (because what kind of person you are these days if you don’t take a selfie :). We enjoyed watching the most gorgeous sunset just like thousands of people each year….but we experienced it somehow more special than other thousands of people…because of what we were a part of – a birth of a new family on a quiet and warm evening.
They walked away from the beach down to their hotel, they were holding hands, kissing and heading towards their future together…and random spectators stopped, said ‘congratulations’ and probably had reminiscence about their wedding day.
Here was Jon waiting for the love of his life to arrive. The taxi parked right near the entrance to the beach and here was Angie! Gorgeous-gorgeous bride!
As the mayor was waiting there already, we didn’t have to wait much longer because all necessary people have arrived. We headed to the beach and that was the beginning of the wedding.
We could actually see the Cape May lighthouse. Amazing view! But nothing can be compared to the couple in love in front of me.
And here they are – married and happy!
And no matter how small the Sunset Pavilion is there were plenty of wonderful corners and views to get some wedding photographs! We enjoyed every single moment of that evening!
And there were so many birds!!! So many birds! I suggested so that Jon and Angie run and scare the birds so we can get a cool photograph with BUNCH of birds in the air but Jon said he would rather not do it. And I totally get it! There probably would be a lot more opportunity to be pooped….and not in a tired way :)….in a ‘on’ way. However, after Jon saw the final wedding gallery he said that they should have run after the birds :). I am not sure if they should have or not but this wedding photo is super lovely and was a cover photo of my website for a very long time! I just love it!
And here are those lovely spectators watching these two!

Hello again my friend!!
On our two year anniversary, we wanted to write a big Thank You again for being apart of our coming together as Man and Wife. We not only retained our photographer, but gained a friend. One who we watch in her motherly ways raise a beautiful son from a special dad.
From the deepest of our hearts–Thank you Yana!
