Jackie and Scott met online just a little over 4 years ago and these two couldn’t be any more perfect together. They set their wedding to take place in Hilton Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia and they were celebrated so well by their family and friends. Cold but sunny March day will be remembered so fondly by all of us. Not only Jackie and Scott looked stunning but they also chose beautiful locations for their wedding and portraits. We traveled around Old City Philadelphia and used beautiful backdrops that are so familiar for Jackie and Scott because they live right in the area. I love how meaningful and memorable these photos are going to be for these newlyweds. Their bridal party had a blast as well. Despite being a little cold they spent every moment with Jackie and Scott and definitely created a wonderful experience for them! The sunset photos near the Hilton Penn’s Landing were windy and cold but I am so glad Jackie and Scott agreed to them because they look warm and so in love together! Well, read on and scroll on and see what a beautiful day it was!
Getting Ready at Hilton Penn’s Landing Philadelphia
Jackie was getting ready on the 22nd floor of the beautiful Hilton Penn’s Landing. What a view it was! But the view of her gorgeous dress from Bijou Bridal, and shoes from Badgley Mischka and flowers from Bloomsbury Floral Design were just as magical! She and the girls were getting their hair and make-up done and just quietly enjoying their morning. Once it was time for Jackie to get into her dress, I was so impressed by the organization of her bridesmaids! They actually had a map and instructions of how the dress is supposed to go on her. And so, Jackie was ready to see her groom – stunning and excited!
Scott was getting ready at the same time but on the 20th floor with his groomsmen and dads. They definitely were enjoying some video games, bagels with A LOT of butter and just plain good company of each other. And I am pretty sure Scott was as excited as Jackie and when it was time for them to see each other, everyone was anxiously awaiting that moment.
First look at Hilton Penn’s Landing Philadelphia
We all went downstairs and while bridal party was preserving their heat for the last moments, Jackie and Scott went outside and met each other. It was super windy but that didn’t stop them from enjoying the moment!
A few moments after Jackie and Scott saw each other, their bridal party has joined us and we got on the shutter bus to go around Old City Philadelphia to get some pretty photos!
Bride and groom portraits Old City Philadelphia and Hilton Penn’s Landind
We got on the bus and strolled through the Old City. Gorgeous, full of history, with amazing backdrops, all the locations were dear to Jackie and Scott as they are currently living in that neighborhood. We captured only a spots that they had on their list because of the time constraints but they have a lifetime together to get other spots captured :)! Beautiful city light combined with pretty colors and textures made for some lovely combinations! Check them out!
And here you go – unscripted wedding day moments! Bridesmaids rescuing their bride from bride and wind and veil and shoes combination 🙂 And yes! The wind! So hard to manage at a moment but ALWAYS makes for such pretty pictures! I appreciate my clients being patient with it so much!
Oh, how much I loved photographing in the Old City! Thank you Jackie and Scott for taking me there! And then we got on the but and wrapped up the shoot with the bridal party and then grabbed a few more photos of bride and groom on the hotel grounds.
The sun set. We got cold. It was time to start getting ready for the ceremony.
Wedding ceremony at Hilton Penn’s Landing
Jackie and Scott are both Jewish for they had the most beautiful Jewish traditions incorporated in their wedding day. Starting from details in the morning to the end of the night. One of the details I loved is that their wedding bands are not supposed to have any stones in them to represent the wholeness of this sacred symbol. They also had huppah and kidush wine glasses beautifully set up for their wedding ceremony. 7 blessings read by 14 people. The best performance I have ever experiences – 2 people per blessing when 1 person read it in English and 1 read it in Hebrew. It all made me teary. Another tradition that I have never experienced before was the bride walking around the groom 7 times. With a long dress and a veil it was pretty entertaining for everyone watch Jackie struggle a little bit :). And of course the covering by the blanket and breaking of the glass made this ceremony so beautiful! And then some amazing and fun dance moves during hora! I thought Scott will be actually set flying out of the seat the way his ‘friends’ were lifting him :)! But, okay, for now it was time for ketubah signing and the ceremony.
So here they are – married and excited for their life together!
Wedding reception at Hilton Penn’s Landing Philadelphia
The reception room was set up in a very elegant way – white and gold centerpieces, flowers and candles, the few of Old Philadelphia visible through the large almost floor to ceiling windows. So amazing! And not only the beautiful of the reception room but the people celebrating there were beautiful! Beautiful speeches, fun dance moves and lots of hugs were witness by me.
And yes! Scott and Jackie’s nephew performed ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’. He recently discovered his love to ukulele and everyone enjoyed this incredibly! And Scott and his mom had a little surprise dance for everyone! YMCA it was!
The party was amazing. The wedding celebration was great! I hope Jackie and Scott has lots of amazing moments in their lives and occasional cold winds of life don’t ruin their party :).
God bless you guys and thank you so much for having me!!!
